Supporting Documents
When applying for a job or internship, an employer may request more information than just a copy of your resume. The company may request a cover letter, references, portfolios, writing samples, transcripts, or other documents specific to the position. They may ask for these supporting documents to get a complete picture of you as a candidate, to confirm the details listed in your resume, or to test whether an applicant can follow instructions. No matter the reason, support documents are just as an important as your resume.
